How Can I Help You?

Most organizations working in political and government spaces have more activity than traction. The gap between the two is usually where the real problem lives.

I founded Civic Alchemy to work in that gap — with nonprofits, foundations, intermediaries, and community-based organizations — on how systems actually move, how decisions get made, and what it takes to turn an idea into something real.

Sometimes an organization is doing the work every day without knowing if it’s moving anything. Sometimes a program just hasn’t broken through yet. Sometimes the terrain is clear but the landmines aren’t.

The work changes. The throughline doesn’t.

Campaign & Policy Strategy

Some engagements need a strategy, not an operator on the ground. I design the roadmap and equip your team to execute it.

This isn’t just messaging. It’s figuring out what actually needs to happen for something to pass, shift, or land — who needs to move, and how to align pressure, narrative, and stakeholders to get there.

Work includes:

  • Defining campaign strategy and political pathway
  • Power mapping and stakeholder alignment
  • Messaging direction tied to strategy, not just communications
  • Advising leadership through key decisions and inflection points

Issue Campaign Execution

Some campaigns need more than strategy. They need leadership. I don’t just hand you the map — I get behind the wheel and drive.

I step in to lead or stabilize campaigns that need senior-level execution to deliver results.

Work includes:

  • Aligning teams and partners around a clear strategy
  • Managing the day-to-day reality of moving work forward
  • Troubleshooting when things stall or break
  • Driving toward policy, funding, or institutional outcomes

Government Strategy & Institutional Navigation

Most organizations don’t struggle because they lack passion. They struggle because they misunderstand how systems actually work. I help organizations operate inside political and government environments with clarity and intention.

Work includes:

  • Translating political context into strategy
  • Positioning organizations to influence decisions
  • Preparing leadership for engagement with government
  • Shaping approaches that can move through real institutions

This is about access, yes. But more importantly, it’s about knowing what to do once you have it.

Civic & Political Leadership Training

I design and facilitate trainings that prepare people to operate in political and civic systems, not just understand them. This work is grounded in practice, not theory.

Work includes:

  • Training leaders, organizers, and community members
  • Building leadership pipelines tied to real advocacy work
  • Facilitating workshops on strategy, power, and engagement
  • Supporting organizations in developing politically capable teams

Program & Strategy Design

Many programs struggle because they’re built in isolation. I focus on making sure they’re aligned with the political and organizational context they’re operating in.

I design programs that:

  • have a clear purpose
  • connect to broader strategy
  • and can actually function beyond a pilot phase and hold up over time

Work includes:

  • Designing advocacy, organizing, and leadership programs
  • Aligning program goals with policy and institutional realities
  • Building structures that support implementation and scale
  • Advising on positioning for long-term impact

Strategic Advising & Organizational Assessment

Strategic Advising & Organizational Assessment

Most organizations working on policy and advocacy aren’t failing for lack of commitment. They’re operating without a clear picture of where they actually stand — politically, strategically, and institutionally. I help foundations and intermediary organizations understand what’s working, what isn’t, and what needs to change.

This work is grounded in practice, not frameworks.

Work includes:

  • Assessing the advocacy and political capacity of organizations and grantees
  • Helping foundations and intermediary organizations understand the political landscape their grantees are operating in
  • Facilitating strategic convenings and cohorts across organizational portfolios
  • Designing capacity-building initiatives that prepare nonprofits to influence decisions and move policy
